Quickest Tell
Both are small, dark and white-marked. Aegypti carries a curved lyre-shaped pattern on the thorax. Albopictus carries a single straight white stripe down the centre.

Females feed on blood to develop eggs; both sexes also feed on nectar.
They rest in shaded, humid areas during the day and are most active at dawn and dusk.
